6.0/10

My stay at Freehand Miami was a mixed bag. While the location was great and the vibe lively, I found the room a bit cramped and the service inconsistent. The amenities were lacking, especially for a place trying to market itself as more than just a hostel.

Rooms
6.0
I booked a private king room, but it was super tiny with hardly any space for luggage. The bathroom could have used shelves, and there were no towels or coffee machines in the room. Not exactly what I expected for the price.
Service
5.0
Some staff were friendly and helpful, but interacting with others was hit or miss. I encountered some rude behavior when I asked for a quieter room after being placed in a loud one. Not cool.
Location
8.0
The location is perfect for reaching the beach and nearby attractions, but the hotel often felt overcrowded with non-guests from the bar area. It’s a little far from the nightlife, which could be good or bad, depending on what you're after.
Dining
6.0
The dining options felt very hostel-like—limited and not the healthiest. Breakfast could really use an upgrade, and there were issues with food running out quickly. The bar area was lively, though.
Facilities
6.0
While the pool was nice and they did offer free beach gear, the communal areas were kind of cramped. There were no coffee services, and I faced some cleanliness issues during my stay.

6.2/10

I had mixed feelings about my stay at Freehand Miami. The location was fantastic, just a short walk to the beach, and the atmosphere around the bar and pool was lively. yet the noise levels in my room were unbearable at night, making it hard to get any sleep. While the initial decor was charming, the overall experience felt more like a basic hostel rather than a hotel, especially with the lack of fresh air in the rooms.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean, but the windows were locked shut, and the noise from outside kept me awake every night. The musty smell was a downside, too.
Service
5.0
The staff was friendly when I interacted with them, but there were moments of rudeness, especially during check-in which left me feeling frustrated.
Location
8.0
The location was perfect, just a three-minute walk to the beach and close to a Starbucks for breakfast. Public transport was very accessible, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was very basic with just cereal and toast, which was disappointing given the high price I paid for the stay. I found better options nearby.
Facilities
5.0
The courtyard and pool area were nice, but it felt constricted as they often reserved spots for outside guests. I also found it odd that I couldn’t access the kitchen freely.

6.4/10

My stay at Freehand Miami was a mixed bag. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the beach, and the vibe was generally fun and relaxed. However, the cleanliness and overall service left much to be desired. I encountered several issues during my visit, including a chaotic check-in process and an unclean room, which really put a damper on my experience.

Rooms
5.0
I booked a bungalow but ended up in a tiny room instead, which felt misleading. The cleanliness was subpar; there were brown stains in the shower, and I found my bed sheets to be stained as well. There weren’t enough towels for us, and the only outlet in the bathroom was out of order.
Service
5.0
The front desk staff had a rough time during check-in, and it felt chaotic. One employee was noticeably frustrated with us while dealing with the broken check-in machine. Additionally, housekeeping was nearly nonexistent during my stay, which added to the level of discomfort.
Location
8.0
I loved the location because it's so close to the beach, plus there’s a bar and restaurant on-site. Access to South Beach via the free trolley right outside was super convenient, too. The social scene was vibrant, but the music played at the bar was loud well into the night.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were limited, and the breakfast included was pretty basic. There was no proper place to prepare food outside the restaurant, which could be an issue if you're looking to save on meals.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area is lovely but not very well maintained, and there was a lack of cleanliness overall in the common areas, which made it less enjoyable. Plus, I saw some staff not speaking English well, making communication tough at times.

5.4/10

I had high hopes for my stay, especially given the location, but my experience was disappointing. The staff could have been more attentive and the accommodations felt outdated. While the pool area had a nice vibe, overall, the service left much to be desired.

Rooms
5.0
My room was small, lacked proper amenities, and I found it hard to get comfortable. The air conditioning was excessively loud, and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired.
Service
5.0
The service was quite poor. The waitstaff seemed inattentive and it was challenging to get assistance when needed. My check-in experience was frustrating due to the rude staff and lack of clear communication.
Location
5.0
I appreciated the prime location near South Beach. It was convenient for exploring the area, which was definitely a highlight of my stay.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were limited and not well prepared. I was disappointed with the breakfast quality and the lack of healthier choices.
Facilities
5.0
While the pool area looked appealing, it was unfortunately not kept clean. The overall facilities seemed outdated and in need of better maintenance.

5.6/10

My stay at Freehand Miami offered a mixed bag of experiences. I loved the pool area and the vibrant atmosphere, but I found the room conditions lacking and the service frustrating. Overall, it's a unique spot that might appeal to some, but it fell short of my expectations for a comfortable stay.

Rooms
5.0
The room had a fantastic AC that kept me cool, but I struggled with power outlets and noisy surroundings. The decor was artsy, but the blackout drapes didn't do much to block out light, which affected my sleep quality.
Service
5.0
Service was hit or miss, with some staff being helpful, but I was often left feeling more like a visitor than a guest. Access restrictions and noise from outside really impacted the experience.
Location
5.0
The location was excellent, just a short walk from the beach and close to bus stops. However, the nightlife can get quite loud and disruptive, which might not suit everyone.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were quite basic. Breakfast consisted mainly of bread and coffee, which felt underwhelming given the price of the stay. I wished for more variety and better food availability.
Facilities
5.0
The pool was clean and well-maintained, adding to the charming vibe. However, I was disappointed with limited access to the bar and restaurant area, which were often booked for outside guests.
